This article tackles all the important questions one might have before starting using blogging as a learning language tool. It explains what blog is, what types of blogs can be used in ELT (the tutor blog, the class blog, the learner blog), it lists multiple reasons for using a blog, gives tips and ideas for activities, and it also mentions downsides (the one that is crucial to me is the fact that blogs are public – unlike wikis).
Conclusion: It is a very useful, quite objective article that is definitely worth reading. Blogging is certainly something that foreign language teachers could consider. It’s not for everyone – I know I would not be really into it but it made me at least consider this option and think about it a little.
