This is a very useful two-page article which introduces the world of wikis to the reader. It focuses on seven valid points that are discussed in more detail. Since I was familiar with wikis before reading the article, the first topic (“What is it?”) didn’t mention any new information. However, the remaining points were quite informative, sometimes even surprising – for instance, I wasn’t aware of the fact that wikis are so popular because I didn’t know about them until last year.
Also, as the article mentions, there aren’t that many disadvantages when it comes to wikis. The main one might be the fact that all people who are named contributors of a group can edit the wiki, even if they’re not supposed to.
Conclusion: A very helpful article that can be used when explaining wikis to someone who has no idea what that is.
